Price screen help guide

A range of information on Asset Match traded investments can be accessed on this website. The Traded company info page displays all investments on Asset Match.

Secondary market companies on the Traded company info page display one of the following:  

  • Current price - this could be an/a:
  • Indicative price - this will show if there are matching bids and offers in the next auction.
  • Highest bid - this will show if the bids and offers in the next auction don't match. It represents the highest price that someone is prepared to pay for 1 unit/share. 
  • Lowest offer - this will show if there are no bids in the next auction. It's the lowest price that someone is prepared to accept per unit/share.

  • Start price - this will only show prior to the first ever auction on Asset Match and where there are no bids or offers in the next auction. 
  • Last dealt price - the price the investment last traded at.
  • Sale volume - the total number of units/shares for sale in the next auction.
  • Purchase volume - the total number of units/shares in demand in the next auction.
  • Next auction - the date of the next auction. Orders can be entered at anytime until the cut off for an auction.  

This page also shows how a company is traded on Asset Match. Identify the symbol against individual companies and check this against the key at the top of the table.  

Single traded - the company is only traded on Asset Match. 
Dual traded – the company is also traded on another stock market.
Loan Stock – companies are not trading equity.  
Closed market - the company controls access to its information and who can enter orders to buy and sell its shares.  
Monitored market – the company is not freely tradeable and has the right to prevent an order being dealt in accordance with the company’s own restrictions on the transferability of shares. 

Clicking on an individual company name on the Price display screen will give you access to further information on that company, including a list of all the orders for the next auction, historic price information, announcements and financial information.  For a further understanding of how to read individual company order books, then please see the table below.

To find out what a figure represents, simply place your mouse over the top of the column. For an explanation of the indicative price please place your mouse over the blue line in the display.

Indicative price - This is the price at which the auction will take place if it took place now.You may wish to use this as a guide when placing an order.
