Primary Fundraising
Since July 2011 Sharemark, working with The Share Centre, has presented retail investors with a gateway to the smaller companies’ fundraising arena.
Smaller companies are considered key to UK economic recovery. They have growth potential if able to access the capital they require to allow their businesses to flourish, in turn fuelling private sector employment. With bank lending reduced, equity capital is a viable alternative.
Whereas in recent years retail investors have all too often been excluded from investing in company fundraisings, (which are frequently undertaken by way of a private placing to institutions), the Sharemark service provides direct access to public offers undertaken on the market. Sharemark and its fundraising companies understand that retail investment is key to broadening a shareholder base which in turn helps stimulate liquidity in the smaller cap secondary market sector.
Offers open on Sharemark originate in a variety of ways. Some are companies new to a stock market and conducting their first public offer, whilst others may be existing or previously admitted AIM or PLUS companies looking to complete a further fundraising round. Companies successfully completing a fundraising will then be traded on Sharemark’s secondary market going forwards.
The fundraising service is designed to be simple and transparent. Current fundraisings, where available, are displayed on our ‘Traded company info’ page and all you need to do is register once to access documentation for all offers, including the Admission Document, a company presentation and other related information.
Registration is free and will only take a few moments. Visit our 'Registration' page for more information.
